History
1935
The family-owned company of LGM – Ličarstvo Gregorc Mengeš – was set up in 1935, when Stane Gregorc Senior started to paint metal items in his workshop in Stara Pot in Mengeš. His craft workshop became famous for its bicycle painting; bikes were the most widespread transport at the time.
1975
Stane Junior and Marinka Gregorc took over the business; they introduced electrostatic coating of metal products. Advanced technology made it possible to coat more sophisticated items and the doors of numerous well known companies started to open.
1985
The services were expanded to powder coating metal products. The environmentally friendly technology of powder coating was more and more appreciated; thus, it replaced the traditional 'wet' coating over time.
1993
The craft workshop transformed itself legally and organizationally into LGM, d. o. o., service company.
1995
The market circumstances of the 90s dictated the increase in volume of production; consequently, a new plant for powder coating was built in the Mengeš industrial zone in 1995. This was a significant improvement in the selection of our services, because the range was extended to aluminium façades and window profiles coating as well as to sheet metal coating.
2000
The quality management system in compliance with ISO 9002 standard was introduced.
2002
LGM invested in a new coating facility for smaller sized items. The work load of the existing plant was therefore reduced and this made it possible for us to become more flexible with meeting the demands on shortening delivery times.
2007
LGM is the first company in the field to upgrade its quality management system (ISO 9001 standard) to an environmental management system in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard. Being ISO 14001 certified means that our constant care for the environment received its official recognition.
